Yes, the lookat.me™ Metadata Upload facility lets you upload metadata thousands of items in a simple process!
- In the Administration menu, select Upload and then click on Metadata Upload link.
- Select a Category and Album destination for your edited metadata CSV file.
- Click the Browse button to locate your CSV file then Click Upload.Your CSV file will be uploaded for processing. Each item listed in your CSV file will be updated with the new metadata.
You can check the progress of your Metadata Upload by selecting the Metadata Upload Report link on the Metadata Upload page or by selecting the Metadata Upload report in the Administration menu.
To check that a particular Metadata Upload has worked, visit the Administration menu and select Manage Albums.
- Select the same Category and the Album that you selected when uploading your metadata and then select edit. You will be taken to the list of items in the Album. These are the items for which you have uploaded metadata.
- Enter the edit screen for any of the images and check the data. The data here should match that in the CSV file you uploaded. If it does match, then the process has been successful.
me™ has provided a convenient, sample CSV metadata template that can be downloaded by selecting the Metadata Template link on the Metadata Upload page. This template contains the field names for the standard lookat.me™ IPTC 1.1 metadata schema. You will need to edit the field names in this template if you have custom metadata fields.
Please be careful what you feed our new baby. Your file must be in CSV (Comma Separated Values) format and conform to the lookat.me™ Metadata specification. Otherwise you might have a bit of a mess to clean up!
