Museum Victoria shares lessons learned

Museum Victoria has overcome a number of increasingly common challenges in managing digital assets and the associated workflows. The Museum's DAM Project Manager, Angeletta Leggio, shared her insights at a seminar at National Gallery of Australia last week, and Palgrave publishing has issued a white paper case study by John Broomfield, the Museum's Media Production and Copyright Manager. Read more about the Museum Victoria DAM project.

Images and audio-visual materials are an increasingly important communication tool in today's world. As part of the State Collection and in the wider community, Museum Victoria faced a number of challenges in managing these assets and the associated workflows.

John Broomfield Manager, Media Production and Copyright at Museum Victoria has written a case study detailing the processes leading up to and including the implementation of the DAM-workflow solution at the Museum.

At a special seminar at the nga in Canberra this month, Angeletta Leggio delivered a presentation around the case study and the Museum's experience. If you would like to view the presentation please register your interest with Hamish Wong.

The case study of the Museums Digital Asset Management system, from business case to implementation, has been published in the Journal of Digital Asset Management, Volume 5, Issue 3 (June 2009). The publishing house Palgrave has made this very informative whitepaper available  for purchase and download.
